This masterpiece of functionalism was constructed on the seaside in 1935-1937 according to a design by Anton Soans and Olev Siinmaa. The final building contains elements of many works presented to its architectural competition. The building is made from bricks and reinforced concrete. The abundant balcony space and glass surfaces create a look of elegance. The hotel has 70 rooms, a dining hall, spacious hallways and lounges. The left wing holds six garages and a closed courtyard for guest parking. The original interior and furniture have been lost. Until 1990, it served as the main building for the “Estonia” sanatorium. During 1992-1994, it was reconstructed into a hotel, completely changing the layout in the process. navigate_before navigate_next
